Time To Get In Shape With These Five Weight Loss Tips

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

By Aiden Caleb

It might be beneficial for you to know and understand first the most important weight loss tips, on how a realistic plan for weight loss works.

A lot of people are thinking of what could be the right weight loss tips that they can use, in order to slim down or perhaps follow the required diet depending on their body’s needs. Basically, one of the most used diet plans these days are the ones pertaining to weight loss. People are being more and more concerned about their looks right now, as well as considering the right weight loss program that will not compromise their body and health.

To create a realistic diet, the first thing that you have to consider is to take note of the actual levels of cholesterol, calorie, protein, and other key elements that you body need in order to function well. You must know what are the right levels of these elements your body should have, and that can be thoroughly explained to you by your nutritionist or health provider. Remember, do not try and make up your own diet program, if you do not have enough knowledge on how to make one, because you might end up having your body suffering from health threats such as malnutrition and other diseases due to insufficient vitamins and minerals.

Once you already have all of the necessary weight loss tips on what you should consider for your meals, and the recommended intake of each nutrient, now is the time to organize your thoughts and be ready for that big change.

A Realistic Diet Plan

1. Know what your goals are, and make sure that you know your limits. Do not aim for something that cannot be done in a matter of days. Losing weight takes time and effort, so do not expect to see visible results in a matter of one week.

2. When you are given a list of foods to eat, make sure that you comply. Do not expect something to happen, if you are not exerting enough effort to make it work. Take time to pick out your own food, and make a research on it, as to why it can boost your plans for weight loss.

3. Never do any kind of trial and error during the process of dieting. Only follow what is prescribed by your doctor, in order to prevent further issues in the long run.

4. Dieting is hard especially if you lack self-discipline.

5. Do not be discouraged whenever you feel that there is nothing good happening with your looks. Patience is the key to achieve what you want to achieve in a weight loss diet.

These are some of the weight loss tips on how to look at a realistic diet plan/program. You should bear in mind that not all diet programs can work for all. You need to know what will work best for you by consulting a doctor first. There will always be a need to customize a plan depending on what you body needs.

Does the Alkaline Diet Really Work?

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

By Sherri Turner

In theory, the alkaline diet plan refers to the belief that if people consume too much acidic foods, it will
make tissue and/or blood more acidic, which can make the body vulnerable to disease. To prevent this,
the acid alkaline diet plan encourages eating more foods that are alkaline to help maintain a balanced
pH level and remain healthier. However, does such a diet really affect the pH level enough to be
noticeable?

Maintaining Your Body’s pH Level

While it is crucial that your body’s pH level is balanced to remain healthy overall, there seems to be
little study done for the effects of an alkaline diet plan. While it is difficult to find studies leading
directly to the effects of such a diet, you can still find plenty of indirect research. For example,
high-protein diets, which are typically composed of acid-forming foods, and their effects have been
documented.

Some have stated that no matter what you eat, your body’s pH level will not be drastically affected.
This is because any major fluctuations in your pH level could potentially be catastrophic. Because of
this, it seems as though the body would not allow itself to be influenced drastically enough to put it into
such immediate danger.

Foods Eaten for an Acid Alkaline Plan

The diet focuses mainly on eating fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and roots. The foods that are most
encouraged for consumption are those that are alkaline-forming because they are supposed to help
alkalize the blood. However, the lists presented through various resources often have conflicting
information about what foods are acid-forming or alkaline-forming.

It should also be noted that the acid-forming aspect of a food is not determined by how acidic a food
tastes upon consumption.

General Benefits

Although there is very little directly linking the diet plan to changing the pH levels, the diet itself does
make for healthier eating habits. With the diet being high in vegetables and fruits, you will be getting
plenty of fiber, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. With limiting such foods as grains and meats, you
will also be limiting the amount of sodium, sugar, calories, and fat you take in. Both of these choices
will make for better health in general.

Losing Weight with the Diet Plan

While limiting your food intake is a step towards losing weight, it is also important that people take
advantage of other weight loss solutions as well, including making important lifestyle changes. To lose
weight while using this plan, people should make it a point to regularly exercise. Not only will this
keep you in shape, but it will also help give you something to do to avoid eating out of boredom.

Whether or not an acid alkaline diet will actually help you maintain your pH level is questionable.
However, because of the foods recommended to eat with this type of diet plan, individuals using it will
more likely be healthier. By combining the healthy eating habits with regular exercise, an acid alkaline diet can help you achieve good health overall.

Weight Loss Information Versus Alcohol Intake

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

Sometimes when you are on the weight reduction journey you simply need weight loss information. Plain and simple sometimes you simply don’t have the answers that you need in order to make your weight release reality. You need the weight loss information in many different areas. Although, sometimes you really do know what is takes for you to decrease lbs. You just don’t to take responsibility for the answer. Either way, that’s okay. That’s what I’m here for. I can help you or lead you in the direction you need to go in order to find your answers.

In this article the weight loss information we will talk about is alcohol – beer, wine, hard liquor. “Can I drink alcohol while dropping lbs?” You may be asking.

I know a lot of you are not going to like the answer that I am going to give you. In a nutshell the answer is ‘no’. Dropping lbs can be done in a myriad of different ways. I choose to teach you the healthy way of weight reduction.

Alcohol has no nutritional value. It is empty carbohydrates. It does not contribute to your health. It is in the same category as donuts. Donuts are empty calories as well. This is weight loss information that you need. This weight loss information can help get you where you want to go….into your skinny jeans! Become a SkinnyJeansCEO! Give up the alcohol, give up those ‘donuts’. Become more healthy. Don’t let these empty calories take place of nutritious foods.

If you choose to have a drink, then let that be on top of your food plan, not in place of foods. Also when you have a drink it drops your will power. You let your guard down. You may succumb to eating more especially other empty carbs. In the morning you will just feel bad about yourself. t only did you drink empty, non nutritional ‘food’ you ate a bunch of sweets and unhealthy foods that does nothing for your self esteem or your waistline.

Another way you can do it is to have a very weak drink. You can enjoy your wine with some bubbly carbonated water. The sparkling juices are a wonderful alternative to wine. Have a mixed drink with a 14 of the alcohol and heavy on the ice and mixes. Hope this has been helpful. Here’s wishing you the best on your weight loss journey!

Is There a Number of Daily Calories to Lose Weight?

Friday, April 27th, 2012

By Sherri Turner

A real and effective diet for weight loss, is to check the level of calories you take in every day. Monitoring calories for weight loss is essential, because this element is one of the contributing factor to fat buildup in the body. Your health professional can give you a good idea on how much calories should be maintained by your body in a day, not just to keep your body looking sexy and lean, but to give you the benefit of having a healthier body.

Furthermore, calories for weight loss are beneficial if you want to live a longer and stronger life. Always remember that losing weight the right way, does not involve pain and health risks. Instead, it should allow people to eat the right foods, never starve themselves, and have less emotional stress.

The body needs to be in a balanced weight. This statement does not only focus on having the best figure to flaunt, but to emphasize on the importance of having the right weight, in order to free yourself from the risks of having diseases like stroke, heart ailments, diabetes, kidney failure, and a whole lot more.

Most health professionals recommend that everyone should be aware of the levels of calories they take in a day, if they want to lose weight healthy. Furthermore, the right diet for weight loss must always include a daily dose of exercise and keep yourself away from unhealthy vices such as cigarette smoking and beer drinking.

As per medical professionals, the recommended calorie level that people should consume in a day is about 2000. If you need to eat five times a day, including two snacks in between meals, then you have to compute your meals based on the calorie level. Here is a simple guideline:

For breakfast – 500 calories (this should keep your body energized and pumped up during the day) Snack – 250 calories Lunch – 450 calories Snack – 250 calories Dinner – 450 calories (this is what you have left for your calorie intake for your dinner meal)

Now you know that monitoring calories for weight loss is essential, the best thing to do next, is to get in touch with a health professional. Medical professionals will be able to make the proper diagnosis to your body and recommend the right level of calories your body needs, in order to achieve weight loss.

Belly Fat and How To Lose It!

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

By T Marchido

Most of the solutions available to lose fat around your midsection pretty much describe the same steps. The biggest difference is how they are presented.

As an example, it is well known that in order to reduce the fat around your midsection, you will need to start working out. However, working out alone is simply inadequate. The first steps in losing belly fat involve learning how to eat right and in the right amounts, and then supplement your new eating habits with stomach toning exercises to achieve that evasive flat belly. Studies have shown that diet alone can help in reducing belly fat, but if you want true “six-pack” abs, you must tone up your belly! Of course, and I would be careless if I didn’t drive this point home, you must stay away from diet pills and fad diets. These will only lead you down yet another road to discouragement because pills and fad diets simply cannot provide you with a life free from obesity. Instead, you will eventually become a disillusioned “yo-yo” dieter!

Anyone who has checked out any of my write-ups on how to lose weight currently recognizes that I am absolutely against taking diet pills or attempting to follow the latest fad diet. To make my point (once again, I could add), imagine yourself as the individual you would like to be. Undoubtedly, I do not know precisely what that is, yet I would be willing to bet that it involves a slimmer, trimmer you. Am I right? When you envision yourself as the individual you wish to be, you are able to cement that image into your mind and, believe it or not, this starts the modification or new direction you recognize you should follow in order to accomplish your weight loss objective. Weight loss really should be for you, a life long aspiration. What I imply is this: When a person begins to take diet pills in the hope of losing weight without any sort of kind of lasting deal, which is just how many of them are marketed, your body is not going to respond the means you think it may. Yes, you may see results in the remarkably beginning. In fact, so much so that you might be sold on the item and be identified to stay on these pills permanently. Nonetheless, as by having the regular fake diet pill, the results start to wear off quickly and suddenly you’re left speculating just what took place. Your body is exactly what occured. Your body developed a tolerance for these pills and is no longer reacting to them. Now what? Should you take more pills? NO! Must you uncover one more diet pill? Well, that’s exactly just what most folks do because there merely is no other possibility. Now, you’re stuck in a perpetual search for that “magic” diet pill. Do you see now exactly what’s occurring? What if you were to cease taking diet pills completely and as an alternative, make use of your mind and all of its power to conquer your weight loss issues? Most likely would not you rather have a lasting deal to end your weight loss issues for life? Most likely would not it be even much better to make your plan a routine – one you might live with, day in and day out, and be healthy because of it? The same is true all of the fad diets that are out there. I’m sure you understand exactly what I’m talking about here. Starving your body, or feeding it some crazy concoction is not the method to lose weight!

OK, enough said about what you probably already know. What you may not know is how dangerous it can be to carry around that extra weight, especially around your midsection. “Fat around the midsection is a strong risk factor for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and even some types of cancers”, says Samuel Klein, MD, the director of the Center for Human Nutrition at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Obviously, decreasing belly fat by doing belly toning exercises (sit ups, side bends, or crunches) combined with a proper diet will go a long way toward reducing your risk of these terrible diseases. If you wish to flatten your belly only for the sake of appearance, a proper diet would be a good start. In either case, success will come from being patient and from steadfastness! For your health first and your appearance second, don’t give up on reducing your belly fat and continue with your belly toning exercises!

I hope that after reading this you will take a serious look at yourself both inwardly and outwardly and finally decide to respond. I know how difficult it may be to figure out how to beat this problem with belly fat and the stigma of not only being overweight but also looking overweight. For me, losing weight has been a lifelong battle. But, I was lucky enough to obtain the right information early enough so I would not need to spend my entire life struggling with being overweight.

Since his early childhood, Tom has struggled with obesity and the stigma of being overweight. Through much trial and error he learned the real way to lose weight for good and without the need for dangerous fad diets and bogus diet pills. On his website, Tom shares his hard-won knowledge with you so that you, too, can finally win the battle, once and for all!

Emotional Eating – Why Do I Eat When I’m Happy or Sad?

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Emotional eating is very tied to every part of you being. Every time you emotionally eat it becomes even more hardwired in your brain. It is really important that every time you want to emotionally eat, you chose NOT to eat.

You brain is connected in a certain way to make you unique. Our brain loves habit. It likes stability. It likes predictability. It does not like things that make us feel uncomfortable. It is like an overprotective mother. It only wants you to feel safe; to feel good; to be comfortable and never in harm’s way. If it thinks that you are being harmed in any way it will literally light up and cause you to feel that something is wrong.

The neurons and synapses are connected in a certain pattern that is unique to you. It is why you typically do things in a certain manner and that makes up who you are. The neurons and synapses have precise connections. This is why actions become habits. Habits are made through the synapses and neuron connections. Each habit has unique connections. Each and every habit has its own pathway. If you do something different your brain – the neurons and synapses, gets all out of whack because it cannot follow the wiring in the brain. It does not follow the paths of the synapses. Neurons no longer know what to do. That is why you get a different feeling than you are used to because there is no physical wiring in the brain to follow. You feel unaccustomed to it. It’s uncomfortable because that’s not the way your brain is wired. It literally is wired like that. You can see it on a brain scan. You can make new synapse connections though. At first new actions or tasks may feel peculiar because there is no pathway. The more often you do something which is not your habit you will begin to build those pathways. You will then become more comfortable with your new habit because you have built new pathways.

For instance, it you always eat at 3pm and you decide you no longer want to do it. It will feel very strange and uncomfortable at the beginning because this is not your habit. This is not part of your wiring in your brain. The more often you don’t eat at 3 pm the easier it will become because you are building new pathways for that new habit. If you do not use a pathway it will shrivel and die and makes room for the new synapse. Hence, you get a great new habit! Keep it up!

Tips To Lose Weight – Six Amazing Tips To Lose Weight

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

By Aiden Caleb

The best tips to lose weight can be given to you by a professional only. People normally do not know what are the best ways to do in order to lose weight. Most of the time, they tend to choose ways that will not really help them at all. What I just want to stress out is that you really do not need to starve yourself and deprive yourself from eating tasty meals just because you are on a diet. There are ways to maintain your diet but can still enjoy your food. It is just a matter of choosing the right food to eat and the proportions.

You can experiment on the different substitutes like munching in carrots sticks and celery sticks instead of chips into your favourite dip. On the other hand, if you want, you can buy pre packed snack packs that maintains a minimum amount of calorie with it.

The point here is, no matter how much food you eat and how tasty it is, if you watch the calorie content of it, you are sure to be just fine. You can take a few extra calories for the day if you are going to attend a party and just do more workout routines to burn the extra amount of fat in your body. Also, make it a point to watch over the proportion of what you eat.

Aside from the tips to lose weight above, you might also want to add the importance of doing a few exercise routines that will help your body to have the right level of metabolism, in order to burn the extra fats of your body, give you more energy, and be enthusiastic the whole day.

Exercising can be hard, but once you get used to it, you will not see it as a burden anymore. After all, you need not to do strenuous exercise routines just to shed off some fats. You and your family can just enjoy a few minutes of walking to the park, which is more than enough to create sweat and burn fats stored in your body.

Honestly though, the best tip to lose eight fast and healthy, is that you have to bear in mind, that losing weight will not happen overnight. It is a long process that will require self-discipline, effort, and your eagerness to achieve a better and healthier body in the long run.

The Role Of The Mind In Weight Loss

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

It must be the most common New Year’s Resolution: “This year, I’m going to lose… (fill in the blank with an amount in kilos or pounds)”. But come February or even the middle of January, we’ve slipped back into our old ways again. What’s the way to break this cycle? And can hypnotherapy help?

Weight loss is a complex issue, and this article isn’t going to give you some step-by-step eating or exercise plan that promises that you will drop X amount of kilos in some ridiculously short time. The one problem with all those one-size-fits all plans is that they assume an average person with average activity levels. The plan that helps a man in his thirties with a job that involves physical labour to lose ten kilos won’t work for a woman the same age who juggles a sedentary office job and three small children. And it’s a proven fact that a lot of those restrictive diets don’t work. Restrictive diets always backfire, as they make you crave the forbidden foods (meaning that you’ll gorge on them once the diet’s over or if you slip up slightly) AND they alter your metabolism so the weight goes on more easily. What’s more, a lot of those diet plans tend to involve fancy foods that cost a bucket and are fiddly to prepare. As for those pills, don’t get me started!

Of course, diet is only part of the equation when it comes to weight loss. Exercise is the other factor. Even if you ate only small amounts of vegetables, lean meat and wholegrains, you’d still put on a bit if you just sat in front of the TV all day. And if you’re doing a very physical job, you can probably eat vast amounts of the sorts of food that would make the people who write diet plans for the glossy mags faint with horror. So again, it’s not a case of one size fits all.

Fundamentally, losing weight comes down to willpower and our ability to change our habits. It’s down to your mind, as a lot of things are. Hypnosis is sometimes used to help with losing weight because hypnotherapy targets the deep beliefs and patterns of thinking, changing them from deep inside.

It can often be helpful to take a look at the ways we think about weight loss, body shape, exercise and food. What’s a myth? What’s the truth? What beliefs can be changed via hypnotherapy? Of course, different people believe different things, so not all of these things will apply to you and your situation. If you decide that hypnosis is the right course of action for you, you might need to explore some of these beliefs and thinking patterns with your therapist to pick the right course of action and the right changes to be made.

Belief Number One: I just can’t resist chocolate/cake/cheese/beer/your particular favourite.

The Truth: You can resist whatever your particular downfall is if you think you can. Believing that you can break an addiction is always the first step in overcoming it. However, addictions related to food aren’t like other addictions. You can’t avoid eating, and there’s always going to be a situation where you are offered a portion of your particular nemesis. However, with the right mindset, you can be in control so you only have a little bit. You can be stronger than the cookie jar. It is a case of willpower, and hypnotherapy is one way that is often used to help give willpower a boost.

Belief Number Two: Healthy food doesn’t taste as good as the fattening things.

The Truth: This is a matter of habit and what you’re used to – in other words, it’s in the mind again! Some people are astonished at the idea that what tastes good and what doesn’t is a case of conditioning and the mind, but take the case of Vegemite. Australians, on the whole, love their Vegemite. But hand a Vegemite sandwich to someone from the USA and you’ll see some interesting reactions as they bite into it. It’s simply that the Yankees aren’t used to Vegemite and haven’t grown up with it. With a bit of help from the mind, possibly with the aid of hypnosis, you can change your eating patterns so your palate changes. When your palate changes, you will start liking the way unprocessed healthy stuff tastes, which is half the “battle of the bulge” won already.

Belief Number Three: I don’t have time to exercise.

The Truth: This will depend on your individual situation. You might be working 10-plus hours a day at the office. You might have small children. You might be confined to a wheelchair. But surely, there’s some way to build some activity into your day of some sort. You possibly need to give up something else in your day to fit in physical activity. If we really want to do something, we’ll find time to do it, no matter what. And here we are, back facing the issue of willpower and motivation again – the mind again! One tip that has helped many people build motivation is to create a positive motive for exercising. Instead of telling yourself “I’m going to dance/run/play football so I can shift these kilos”, change your thinking patterns to more positive ones “I’m going to dance because I love music and it makes me feel happy,” “I’m going to work towards competing in a triathlon,” “I’m going to play football so I can make some more real-life friends,” and so forth. Positive thoughts are often more powerful than negatively phrased ones, which is a technique that every hypnotherapy counsellor knows when it comes to planting suggestions.

Belief Number Four: I’m so fat – I look nothing like those models in the glossies.

The Truth: You certainly don’t look like those models in the glossies, but this doesn’t mean you’re fat. We all know that those girls are half-starved (or even anorexic) teenagers who have been photoshopped into something hardly human. Again, a change of thinking is needed. You need to learn to accept yourself and what the normal human body looks like. Yet another mindset that hypnotherapy can try to change!

Is Your Weight Loss Journey Like Getting A Speeding Ticket?

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

So, yesterday I was off to get my youngest son, Red, from piano lessons. While he was at his lesson I would be getting some much needed groceries. I was with my middle son, Happy. We were on our way from getting groceries back to the piano teacher. I was so pleased because I had plenty of time. I was right on schedule. Red, my son, had his first competitive soccer game this evening right after piano. I had planned it out perfectly. Life was good. No hurrying or haste.

As I happily drove down to pick up Red, I went through a school zone. I consciously slowed down as any good citizen would. BTW, sometimes even good citizens don’t slow down. Not sure why that is. Actually, as I think about this I do know why from time to time the brake doesn’t get used.

I was listening to one of my tapes. Yes, actually a cassette tape for all of you who still remember those! I have some great information on cassettes. I am so glad my vehicle has a cassette deck as well as a cd player. Some education and information is timeless. It can’t be improved. This is how this was for me this day. I was totally involved in my own little world. Well, then out popped the “Peace Officer”. Now isn’t that the oxymoron – She sure didn’t give me peace! Instead she gave me a ticket!!!!!

Why did I get this ticket?

I was originally paying attention. I then lost focus and started focusing on something else.

I was very happy with the way my life was going…got a little lax

Wasn’t aware I was still in the Playground zone.

Life blindsided me when I wasn’t expecting anything to happen.

This is exactly what can happen to anyone of us when we are in the process of losing weight.

When you first start a new way of eating you are in total focus of what you need to eat. Then you become more familiar with that diet (Mine is a food plan – diets aren’t for me). You don’t pay as close attention to your eating and boom! You’ve lost focus and get a ‘ticket’ – get something negative. Perhaps gain the weight you lost while not paying attention.

Things are going well with your weight loss plan and boom! You get lax – Again, perhaps gain the weight you have recently lost.

You are still in the playground zone. You’re being aware that you still need to ‘slow down’ and be extra cautious. Again, perhaps gaining back the lost weight.

Going along happily and by no fault of your own (Is this true?) something negative happens and throws you off your new weight loss plan. And of course, gaining back the recently lost weight!

Be aware: nobody likes “tickets” or gaining back that newly lost weight.

Remember to:

Focus

Stay vigilant

Slow down, be extra cautious

Life can sometimes throw up curveballs
