Food Remedies For Anti-Aging

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Aging is the physiological process of cell degeneration. Senescence is the process of aging. Organismal senescence, the ageing of organism is characterized by improper balancing of temperature and reduced stress response. Cellular senescence happens to cell degeneration due to shortening of the telomere. All this cumulatively lead to cell death and the death of the organism or the aging of the body. Telomere is present in keratinocytes and the immortal germ cells and is the molecular clock that prevents cancer and aids in cell division and anti aging process.

Preventing Aging Through Dietary Modifications

The major reason for aging is the presence of free radicals in the body which can be taken care of with anti-oxidant foods. Thus instead of resorting to various other sophisticated therapies, one can easily slow down aging by dietary modifications.

Food items that cause aging

Food items that cause aging and cell degeneration in the long run when taken excessively include foods with high level of carbohydrates, homogenized milk and cheese, Caffeine in coffee, chocolate and cola, white flour, foods cooked in microwave, fluoride chemical, artificial sweeteners like aspartame, alcohol, processed foods, artificial colorings, additives, monosodium glutamate, preserved meat, pork, margarine, olestra, hydrogenated oils, deep fried foods, chips, excess of soy products as in soy sauce, tofu, oysters (sea foods like oysters eat waste and toxins, which when taken by humans is harmful), mercury-rich sea foods like the tuna fish, usage of aluminum cookware and highly genetically modified foods.

Anti aging food remedies

Similarly there are foods that can naturally heal the damages and degenerations occurring in the body swiftly and without side effect unlike certain anti aging therapies like gene therapies or skin creams for preventing aging.

Anti Aging Food Items And What They Do

Green vegetables like broccoli, spinach and lettuce are a great boon to vegetarians as they aid in detox. The phyto vitamins and minerals have anti cancer and anti aging effects. Avocado is rich in vitamin E. Vitamin A and E are very important in order to maintain a smooth, glowing soft, healthy skin. Raw avocado or salted avocado can be taken to remove the wrinkles on the face. Keeping the skin hydrated by drinking the required amount of water is beneficial as water helps to remove the free radicals and toxins from the body and aid in proper blood circulation. Gooseberries rich in vitamin C aid in blood circulation and anti aging. Yoghurt rich in potassium and calcium has live bacteria to defend the body and produce immunity in the intestine. Raw garlic helps in blood thinning, reduce cholesterol and prevent the degeneration of cells. Water melons and avocado have an alkalizing effect and prevent aging. White rice pastas have to be replaced with brown rice or wheat pasta as carbohydrates in excess leads to obesity, diabetes and aging. Ginger helps in the proper maintenance of digestive system. Nuts like Brazil nuts, almonds, cashew can provide us with lot of energy and make us enthusiastic and feel fresh. Thus aging is not only a psychological feature but also the accumulation of physiological changes in the body which could be taken care of with just healthy eating in terms of balance diet.

5 Guidelines To Assist You To Pick A Diet Plan For A Colon Detox

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

The human body is built to cleanse itself by making use of organs such as the liver and kidneys. Though, with the elevated exposure to toxins we have today in the form of chemicals and various pollutants, including growth hormones and antibiotics inside our meats and milk, our bodies could have a problem keeping up. This also means the colon can have a tough time carrying out its role of clearing our bodies of waste.

Like a gentler replacement for nutritional supplements, a diet to cleanse the colon can be extremely successful and totally natural. Changing your diet and other lifestyle choices can significantly influence your overall health in favorable ways.

Following a colon cleanse diet will manage to benefit you in several ways, including supercharging energy, restoring skin, eliminating constipation, stopping smelly breath and allow you to shed weight.

Listed here are the steps to follow a diet for a colon cleanse:

1. Eliminate toxins – To start with you must eliminate the toxic compounds from your diet and, whenever you can, from your life. In case you smoke, quit. Cut out processed, high sugar foods along with caffeine. At the same time keep away from all junk food and look for organic sources of food. 2. Breakfast – Eat only fruit each morning. Fruits are easy to digest and provide plenty of fiber. There is also a high water content in fruit and every one of these things work together to generate a fantastic colon cleanse.

3. Don’t start too fast – Start with raw veggies to lessen the load on your colon. You need to provide it with a rest while you try to detoxify it. Romaine lettuce is a great source for colon cleansing with its roughage and high water contents. You certainly don’t need to add more toxins while you attempt to clean it out.

4. Increase dietary fiber and choice supplements – The roughage in dietary fiber scrapes out the mucous typically caused by toxic substances in the intestinal tract. This mucous coats the digestive system and prevents it from absorbing the nutrients that you get through your food. Include foods loaded with vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids. Detoxifying the body takes its toll as your body works hard to get rid of large quantities of toxic waste.

5. Mixing foods – Mixing particular foods will slow your digestive process. For example, it requires various digestive juices to break down carbohydrates and proteins. In order to eat pasta, you might have red sauce but absolutely no meat. Proteins and veggies are great together since they are broken down in similar ways.

These five tips for choosing a diet for a colon cleanse will be a fantastic start for you when you attempt to cleanse your body.

How We Benefit From A Detox Plan

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

Our bodies represent a well-developed machine, with many vital components, performing a wide range of important functions, crucial to our survival and health. Whilst most of us will spend time on a daily basis looking after the external appearance of our bodies; be it combing our hair, brushing our teeth, or putting on some make-up, it is this external layer which hides and protects the complex machine underneath.

So, do you ever think about looking after your internal environment in the same way you look after the external?

The way the human body carries out all of the many, many necessary tasks to keep us alive, is truly amazing. However, over the past century it is our diet and lifestyle which has changed dramatically and which can, in a lot of instances, hinder the work our bodies are trying to do. This is because the modern diet and lifestyle can introduce a lot of toxins into the body.

Toxins are substances that are foreign to the body; they do not belong in the body and they serve no purpose there. Toxins require removal from the body as they can hamper the functioning of internal organs which can have a detrimental effect on health. It is the job of the liver to remove these toxins.

Toxins come in many forms and can enter the body through a number of mechanisms:

* Through the foods we eat. Many foods contain artificial additives, preservatives and artificial colourings. Many farmed products contain a residue of pesticides, fertilisers and herbicides. Non-organic meats may have been subjected to artificial substances such as growth hormones. Foods such as cakes, confectionary and fizzy drinks are high in refined sugars. * Through the drinks we consume. Alcohol and caffeine are two toxins commonly found in beverages. * Through the air we breathe. Substances that can enter the body through the air we breathe are exhaust fumes, gases, pollen, moulds and mites. * Through the medications we take. This includes items bought over the counter such as paracetamol and aspirin, and prescribed medications such as the contraceptive pill.

All of these substances are toxic in the body and need to go to the liver in order to be removed. Due to their prevalence in modern living this can put a lot of pressure on the liver and as such, high levels can accumulate in the body. A wide range of symptoms can manifest when this happens, such as headaches, mood swings, and aches and pains; to name just a few. This is where the body really could benefit from undergoing a safe detox plan designed to fully support the liver.

Does A Body Cleansing Diet Work?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

With so many body cleansing diet products flooding the market nowadays you might wonder if they really work. Let’s take a look at what a body cleansing diet and supplements actually do.

Usually, cleansing refers to the digestive area but ultimately the purpose of a body cleansing diet is to bring health to the entire body. The main purpose of our detox organs is to filter the toxins and other harmful elements from our diet and out of our bloodstream. Giving them a boost from time to time helps them to perform their duties more efficiently.

The prime organs that take part in removing toxins from your body include the colon, liver and the kidneys. Every day our detox organs are under attack from the numerous chemicals that are part of modern living. Food additives such as preservatives, colors and artificial flavors contain poisons which are harmful for our body.

Our detox systems were not designed to deal with these foreign chemicals so they end up being stored in our fatty tissues and liver cells. The continuous assault of these toxins from our daily activities means that our detox organs get completely overwhelmed with the task.

As toxic particles build-up in your body you are likely to get a range of niggling little symptoms. Some health specialists believe that ‘mucoid plaque’ develops in the colon and plays a part in most types of diseases.

A body cleansing diet offers your body a chance for removing the toxins and a revival of the detoxification organs. It frees up the colon, liver and the kidneys and provides a rest for the organs so they can eventually work more efficiently. The toxins stored in our fatty tissue are removed or flushed away from our bloodstream .Generally, cleanses result in some weight loss too.

To further support the detox organs special supplements are often used. Some sort of fasting may be a part of cleansing whether or not it is aimed at the colon, liver or the kidneys. Not all health practitioners would agree but water fasting is no longer considered to be beneficial due to the amount of chemicals that could be released. A body cleansing diet will assist you to detoxify the body by removing the destructive waste and toxins from the undigested food congested in your colon. Common digestive problems like gas, bloating and constipation can be put to an end.

Body cleansing diets and supplements increase the metabolism of our body which offers help in weight loss. Remember, it might take more than one cleanse to see results.

Losing Those Extra Holiday Pounds: Part Two – Detoxing

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

Welcome to part two of my series on weight loss. In this article, I’m going to cover how cleanses contribute to the weight loss process. Stay tuned for part three, exercises that contribute to weight loss and part four, the common weight loss traps.

For the record, I don’t think doing a detox is essential for losing weight, nor do I think detoxes are appropriate for everyone. They are just one optional component of the weight loss puzzle that may help a few of you finally make peace with your scale.

The detox I’m going to focus on in this article is what I call the Whole Foods Detox – spending seven days eating whole foods like fruits, vegetables, non-gluten grains, and some legumes.

There are three main reasons why I’ve found the Whole Foods Detox to be helpful in the process of losing weight (losing weight is only one of the numerous benefits that come from detoxing. My focus in this series of articles is on weight loss – so I am focusing on that benefit here.

First, you’ll find that your portion size decreases when you are eating healthy whole foods that you’ve cooked at home. When you cook your own food for three meals a day, for seven days in a row, you’ll realize that without the sodium and added chemicals of processed and restaurant food, you just don’t need to eat as much to be full. And you’ll continue to eat less, even after you’ve gone back to eating regularly. Therefore, you will continue to lose weight, without having to focus on reducing portion sizes.

Second, detoxing can help you kick-start your metabolism, especially if it has been going on slow for a while. The reason that I began facilitating detoxes was because a number of my clients were having trouble dropping weight, despite their healthy diets and exercise routines. After the detox, they not only lost a few pounds, but they continued to lose weight at a gradual and healthy pace. By letting go of the toxins and the junk food, your body begins to work more efficiently and weight loss becomes a reality.

Third, detoxing can help you kick that nasty sugar, salt or caffeine addiction. As a part of the Whole Foods detox, you will eliminate sugar, salty snacks made from wheat or white flour and caffeine. Most clients report that the first two days are tough and then it becomes surprisingly easier over time. And if you keep it up for seven days, you’ll be much less likely to binge on chocolate.. When you begin to eat normally again, you’ll be eating significantly less sugar, salt and caffeine and be spending much less time sucking in your gut in front of the morning mirror.

So if you’ve been pondering joining the ranks of the rich and famous and doing a detox, know that done in a healthy way, detoxes can help you lighten up and feel amazing.

Dr. Alejandro Junger’s Clean Program

Visit CleanProgram.com Today!

In the words of Dr. Junger:

This is the way I see it:
The program as it is in the book would work if you find the ingredients in the recipes as they should be, full of nutrients, fresh, without long distances of transportation, and if you use reasonable variation. We never know exactly what we are getting any more. It is possible, if not likely, that you would not be covering the supply of everything that is needed for the important work of detoxification and repair that goes on during CLEAN.

When I advise people, I mostly guide beginners and people that will not realistically take the time to shop and prepare foods, so they do it with the Kit. The supplements I chose are of great quality and loaded with nutrients in the right combinations, specifically designed with the understanding of molecular biology and physiology, at the same time as using the understanding that humans, who are designed by nature, will benefit from the re-creation of more natural conditions. The nutrients in the kit are much closer to what some understand humans would be eating in the wild.

The kit is also designed to repair intestinal integrity. It has powerful herbal antimicrobials and probiotics, a blood sugar stabilizer that helps cravings dissolve, a digestive enzyme which further eases digestive work.
Most importantly, it works. I have seen hundreds of people just light up and become full of vibrant energy. It is not for everybody. Real food is always better, but it’s more likely to do it for you if you are already pretty CLEAN.
If there are lots of bad bacteria in your intestines, you will have to eat all the “food antimicrobials” all the time.

Yes, I have all the reasons to be biased towards the Kit, since I profit from your purchase. But the truth is that I wasn’t thinking of kits at the start. I was scratching my head trying to recreate the powerful effects of juice fasting but in my patients that could not take time off and go to a spa. In the city, living modern life, juice fasting just doesn’t work. Only juicing is great when you are in a spa setting. Busy life and only juicing for more than 3 days just doesn’t work. So that is how I arrived at this formula. Only then it occurred to me that I could help many more people with the amazing technology of today. This is my passion.
